FOV vs Sensitivity Calculator for PUBG
When Bluehole implemented FOV in PUBG I bet that many of you really wanted to play on higher FOV to see more around you but when you changed it your sensitivity immediately changed as well and became really uncomfy. I was wondering for some time how to adjust sensitivity to high FOV in PUBG and I have found a cure for it. Now you will be able to change FOV and keep your old sensitivity by using a little calculator which I made. It will adjust your sensitivity to your new FOV, all you need to do is inserting your current sensitivity and FOV which you can be found in:
“%UserProfile%\AppData\Local\TslGame\Saved\Config\” WindowsNoEditor in file named “GameUserSettings.ini”
PUBG FOV pros and cons
Of course changing your Field Of View in PUBG comes with some pros and cons. If you are not the biggest fan of reading you can learn more about these from this video.
When you are on really low FOV like 80 you will see much fewer surroundings than people with 103 FOV. Here is a screenshot which will help you understand how big difference it makes.
Amount of surroundings in your vision is not the only thing which will change for you. There is a short list of really important changes which will happen after you will change your FOV in Player’s Unknown Battlegrounds.
When you are on low FOV like 80:
- You will have around 10-15 more FPS
- Everything will be much bigger
- Enemy models will be larger / easier to aim at
- The game/action will feel less dynamic
- Your vision will be greatly obscured
- Super not friendly to low sensitivity
When you are on high FOV like 103:
- You will see much more around you
- You will be able to see whats behind with “free look”
- Friendly to low sensitivity
- The game/action will feel more dynamic
- You will have around 10-15 less FPS
- Everything will be super small, hard to spot and aim at.
So “the best setting” does not exist in this matter but I got few ideas which might help you make your mind.
First of all, when you like to play aggressively, drop in highly populated areas I would recommend high FOV. Having that extra vision will help you a lot in close quarters combat and in tight spaces.
If you like to play as a sniper or just spend most of your time in open areas then low FOV will be more suitable for you. Extra zoom in will make all enemies way easier to spot and models will look bigger.
I have to say that it’s all down to personal preferences. I managed to get into Top 100 EU on solo FPP while playing on FOV 103 and I admit that my spotting was not as sharp as usual but it was not super bad either. At the moment I’m playing on FOV 95 which is kinda middle ground for me so I can spot from far and I still see a lot up close.
